Frequently asked questions
Are my BMP files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your files are opened, decoded, and re-encoded on your device, then saved locally. Nothing is sent to ImgSprint or any third party.
Can I convert multiple BMP files at once?
Yes. Drop as many files as you like and they are all converted with the same settings. You can download them one by one or all at once. The practical limit is your device memory, so on phones it is best to work in groups of 10–20.
Does converting BMP to JPG change the image size or dimensions?
The pixel dimensions stay the same — only the file format and encoding change, so the file size will differ. If you also need to change the width and height, use the Resize Image tool after converting.
Will transparency be preserved when converting to JPG?
No. JPG does not support transparency, so any transparent areas are filled with solid white to prevent black boxes. If you need to keep a transparent background, convert to PNG, WebP, or AVIF instead.
What quality should I choose?
For most photos, 85–92% keeps a great balance of quality and file size. Use 95%+ for images with fine detail or text, and lower values only when you need the smallest possible file.
