Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the border styles?
Solid draws an even border on all four sides. Polaroid adds extra space at the bottom, mimicking a polaroid print where the caption would go. Shadow adds a soft drop shadow so the photo appears to float above the surface.
What is the margin for?
The margin adds empty space outside the border, painted in the same color. It lets you create a wider mat around the frame, similar to a mount in a physical picture frame, without changing the border thickness.
How do I get rounded corners on my image?
Increase the corner radius slider. The radius is applied to the image window and the outer edge together, so both follow the same curve. Higher values give a softer, more rounded result.
What does the inner line do?
The inner line draws a thin stroke just inside the image edge in a color you choose. It is a simple way to add a premium, gallery-style detail, especially when the border and the photo are a similar tone.
Which format should I choose?
PNG preserves any transparency, which matters for rounded or shadowed corners. JPG produces smaller files for sharing but flattens transparent areas onto white. WebP often gives the best size for the quality when your browser supports it.
Does adding a border reduce image quality?
The photo pixels are copied into a larger canvas at full resolution, so the image itself is not upscaled or cropped. Keep the quality slider high on export, and the frame is drawn as clean vector-style edges rather than scaled pixels.
