Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a photo filter and a manual adjustment?

A filter preset is a named combination of color operations — for example, Vivid boosts saturation and contrast while Mono removes color entirely. Manual sliders on the Photo Editor let you set each value yourself. This tool is built for quickly applying one consistent look across many files.

Does the intensity slider remove the filter?

At 0% the result matches the original, and at 100% you get the full preset. Values in between interpolate the effect, which is handy for filters like Vintage or Dramatic that can look heavy at full strength.

Can I apply the same filter to many images?

Yes. Add as many files as you like, choose a preset and intensity, and every image in the list is processed with those settings. Press Download all to save them together.

Will filtering reduce image quality?

The filter redraws the photo at its original pixel dimensions, so no resolution is lost. Exporting to a lossy format such as JPG, WebP, or AVIF re-encodes the pixels, so keep the quality setting high for important images.

What happens to transparent images?

PNG, WebP, and AVIF keep transparency. JPG cannot store an alpha channel, so transparent areas are filled with white before encoding to prevent black boxes.

Are my photos sent to a server?

No. Every filter is applied locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your files are never uploaded or stored anywhere.

Which output format gives the smallest file?

AVIF usually produces the smallest files, followed by WebP, then JPG. Support varies by browser, so ImgSprint checks what your device can encode and disables formats that are unavailable. PNG stays lossless but is much larger for photos.
