Optimize
Upscale Image
Enlarge a photo by up to 4× with high-quality smoothing and optional sharpening. This is classic resampling, not AI super-resolution — it will not invent detail that was never in the picture, and it never leaves your device.
How to use upscale image
- 1
Add an image
Drop the photo you want to enlarge. Its current dimensions load automatically.
- 2
Pick a scale
Choose a 1.5×–4× preset, or type an exact target width and height with the ratio locked.
- 3
Sharpen if needed
A light sharpen pass helps offset the softness that enlarging introduces.
- 4
Download
Export the enlarged image as JPG, PNG, or WebP at the full target size.
What you can do
Preset or exact sizes
Enlarge by a fixed factor, or enter the precise pixel dimensions you need.
Quality resampling
Progressive, high-quality smoothing softens the blockiness of a single large jump in scale.
Full-size output
The preview is downscaled for your screen, but the download is rendered at the exact target size.
Stays on your device
Enlarging runs in your browser. Your image is never uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
Is this AI super-resolution?
No. This tool uses high-quality classic resampling plus an optional sharpen pass. It smooths and enlarges the pixels that are already there, but it cannot invent real detail that was never captured. AI upscalers sometimes guess plausible detail; this tool is honest about not doing that.
How large can I make an image?
The tool allows targets up to 8000px on a side and about 40 megapixels in total. Past that point a browser tab can run out of memory and crash, so the tool warns you and blocks the download before that happens.
Why does an enlarged photo look soft?
Enlarging spreads the existing pixels over a larger area, so fine textures and edges become smoother. Sharpening restores some perceived crispness by boosting local contrast, but it cannot recover information that was never in the original.
What does the sharpen slider do?
After resizing, it applies a light unsharp-mask style convolution that increases edge contrast. Around 30–50 is a good starting point; pushed too far, sharpening creates bright halos along high-contrast edges.
Which output format should I choose?
PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which suits graphics and images with clean edges. JPG and WebP produce smaller files, and their quality slider lets you trade file size against fidelity for photos.
Should I use Upscale or Resize?
Both change pixel dimensions. Use Upscale when you specifically want to make an image larger with smoothing and sharpening tuned for enlargement. The Resize tool is better for shrinking images or setting exact dimensions without those enhancements.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The image is decoded, enlarged, and re-encoded entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to ImgSprint or any third party.
