What you can do

Multi-line captions

Add as many lines as you need. Long lines wrap automatically so nothing runs off the edge.

Fill, outline, and plate

Pick a text color and outline for contrast, and add a translucent plate when the background is busy.

Drag to position

Move the text by dragging it on the preview, or fine-tune the exact spot with the horizontal and vertical sliders.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add text to a photo?

Drop an image, type your text in the box, then adjust the size, color, and position. The preview updates as you change each control. When it looks right, click Download to save the result at the original resolution.

Can I add more than one line of text?

Yes. Press Enter to start a new line in the text box. Each line is drawn as part of the same block, and lines that are too wide wrap automatically to fit within about 90% of the image width.

How do I make text readable on a busy background?

Two options work well. Add an outline (a contrasting stroke) around the letters, which is the classic approach, or enable the plate to place a translucent color block behind the text. A dark plate with light text is a reliable combination.

Where is my text placed on the image?

The horizontal and vertical sliders control the anchor point as a percentage of the image. You can also drag the text directly on the preview canvas. The position is stored as a percentage, so it lands in the same relative spot on the full-resolution export.

Will the text be sharp in the downloaded file?

Yes. The preview is scaled down to fit your screen, but the export redraws the image and the text at the original pixel dimensions, so the letters are rendered at full resolution rather than enlarged from the preview.

Does adding text remove my image metadata?

The image is redrawn to a canvas and re-encoded, which drops most EXIF metadata such as GPS coordinates and camera settings as a side effect. If metadata removal is the goal, the dedicated Remove Image Metadata tool is more explicit about what it strips.
